1987 Aston Martin V8 Volante
This V8 was purchased new by Albert 'Cubby' Broccoli, the Father of the Bond cinema franchise. He bought the car after a 15-year hiatus of the Aston Martin marque in the Bond movies after the V8 Volante was re-introduced in the 1987 film 'The Living Daylights'.
The original livery of Cannock Black over Natural leather with a black soft top is still retained as well as the 5.3-litre engine and three-speed Chrysler automatic gearbox. The car was imported to the USA and used sparingly across the States before returning to California. It was present at the launch of Galpin Motors' Aston Martin dealership in 2005, which was attended by the Governor at the time: Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Richards of England was commissioned to undertake re-conditioning works including a US to Euro bumper conversion and re-spray of the front and rear panels as the side repeaters were removed; following the work the V8 was sold off-market and was delivered back to the States.
