1970 Aston Martin DBS-6 FI (Fuel-Injection)
Chassis Number: DBSFI/5579/R
1 of 2 still running on the A.E Brico Electronic Fuel Injection (worldwide)
Given that this DBS was just 1 of 15 made, ROE made every effort to keep its originality, with the car being returned to its rare colour combination of Azzurro Blue with Connolly Vaumol VM3282 (dark blue leather). Distinctive features, such as the red FI wing vent badges, were also retained. Of the two still left running on the A.E Brico Electronic Fuel Injection, this DBS remains the only one to have been fully restored to this level.
The only deviations from its original build were made with driving experience in mind, this included switching to the preferred 5 speed ZF manual gearbox, instead of its original automatic. The latter was kept and delivered with the car. The ECU was also replaced with a modern equivalent, along with the injectors, due to the original being problematic. Hours of dyno testing and setting up saw the systems performing and running superbly, allowing the AE Brico electronic Fuel Injection system to perform as originally intended, offering superb performance and torque.
The photos below are the same ones used within a photobook which ROE designed for the client. The book's cover was carefully crafted from the same dark blue leather (VM3282) Connolly Vaumol leather hide as was used for the car’s interior.
By providing you with the photos from within the album ROE are inviting you to also view the exhaustive works carried out to bring DBSFI/5579/R back to life.
